Shop For Patio Furniture On A Budget

Posted on

If you'd like to spruce up your patio and spend more time outdoors this summer, consider purchasing some outdoor furniture. Don't have much for a budget? No worries. Check out the four, budget friendly ways below to obtain furniture for your home's patio.

Repurpose What You Already Have

Turn your old and worn furniture into a newly loved outdoor piece. With the help of exterior stains and sealants, you can turn old wooden pieces into works of art that can be used outdoors for years to come.

Think outside the box: Remove bulbs, shades, and wiring from floor lamps and turn them into stunning, outdoor flower pot holders. Have a footed bathtub that you no longer use? Cut out one side of it along its width and paint it whatever color you choose. Then simply add a cushion and some throw pillows for a unique new couch.

Hit the Pavement

Yard sales and garage sales are a great place to find gently used, outdoor furniture to spruce up your patio.

Did you find a piece that's not exactly what you're looking for? Remember: You can repurpose the item however you want once you've brought it home. Speak with the seller and see if you can haggle the price down to make up for some of the costs of repurposing. Take advantage of these sales before your neighbors come to their senses and realize they can repurpose their furniture, too.

Consignment Stores

Consignment stores don't usually employ furniture pricing experts, so you may be able to find a great outdoor furniture piece for a steal.

If you don't see something you like today, check back another time. Consignment stores are always receiving donations so they may have just what you're looking for if you check back often.

Flea Markets

Flea markets have so much to offer, but you have to know when to go in order to get the best deals.

Arrive at flea markets as they open to increase your odds of a great score. If you see something you like but the price isn't right, let the owner know and see if they're willing to haggle. If not, come back right before they close. If the piece is still there, they might be more willing to reduce the price just to get rid of it. You're more likely to score big ticket items for cheap at the end of a multi-day flea market that only comes around on occasion. If it's a reoccurring event, they might not be as willing to part with it for the price you're offering.

Great outdoor furniture from retailers like Patio Shoppes of Coral Springs & The Palm Beaches can be obtained on any budget. Whether you poke around consignment stores and yard sales, hit up the occassional flea market, or recycle what you already have, your patio can be transformed into a beautiful, welcoming outdoor gathering place for friends and family.
